It seems the adage, "The rich also cry" is now seriously manifesting among Nigerians due to the rising exchange rate in the country. The dollar exchange rate to a Naira has risen to over N1200 and it's starting to affect the standard of living of Nigerians and even the wealthy and affluent in the society.

Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has expressed her displeasure over the rising exchange rate in the country and how it's slowly affecting her business.

Mercy Aigbe who is the CEO of Mag Divas, a fashion boutique in Lagos, took to her Instagram page yesterday to lament about the current state of the economy, pouring out her frustrations to her millions of followers.

She revealed that she is extremely frustrated with the way the dollar keeps increasing day by day. As a business owner, she no longer has enough profits to gain from her business because the exchange rate has affected her cost price and she has to spend more on importing goods from other countries.

She said she has been trying to import goods for her fashion store Mag Divas since last week but she couldn't bring herself to do it because of the dollar rate. She was patient enough to see whether the exchange rate would go down but it kept on increasing.

Mercy Aigbe said she had no other choice but to order the goods with tears in her eyes and with a broken heart.
