National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program that all Nigerian graduates are mandated to partake in. It was established by the Nigerian government during the military era to ensure the active participation of Nigerian graduates in the country's development. Since 1973, thousands of University and Polytechnic graduates have been required to enroll in the National Youth Service Corps programs for a year.

The first Director-General of NYSC was Ahmadu Ali. He served from 1973 to 1975. But the current Director-General is Yusha'u Dogara Ahmed. The headquarters is at Abuja and application is open to all Nigerian graduates below the age of 30.
