Dave Brailsford was born on February 24, 1954 in Shardlow, Derbyshire England. Before venturing fully into sports management, Brailsford started out as an export sales manager for Planet X - a bicycle company based in Rotherham, England.
In 1998, he secured a top role with British Cycling as a consultant. Brailsford managed top cycling athletes such as Geraint Thomas and Bradley Wiggins while at British Cycling before exiting his role to join Team Sky which was later renamed Team Ineos in 2019.
In 2021, Brailsford was appointed as the Director of Sports for INEOS Sports Group to oversee a diverse range of teams and sports managed by the group.
