Insane! Market survey reveals the new prices of spaghetti, egg, butter, and others amid 29.9% food inflation
As inflation increased to 29.9%, Nigerians conducted a market survey and compiled the new prices of foods in the market. The majority of the food items have now recorded over a 100% increase in price and citizens are complaining about the hardship this has brought upon Nigeria. Spaghetti now sells for N950, one egg for N300, butter for N1,400, sardine N1,020, and a bag of rice sells for as high as N80,000. These food items used to sell for less than half the current prices and the sudden surge has caught many people off-guard.
Traders are complaining of not making enough profits from their wares and buyers are complaining of the ridiculous prices. Citizens are now pleading with the federal government to intervene because things are beginning to get out of hand. You can watch the different compilations of new prices and complaints from citizens regarding the hike in the prices of food.
