Mohamed Salah has in recent seasons achieved monstrous strides at Liverpool and this has resulted in many comparing his legendary status at Liverpool with that of Steven Gerrard.

Salah appears to be the darling of modern-day Liverpool fans, who have seen him produce magical performances over time.

Mohamed Salah has won every trophy that a player can win at Liverpool, and he has also scored an outstanding number of goals, joining a list of players with 200+ goals for the Reds.

The Egyptian joined the Anfield club from AS Roma on July 1, 2017, for a fee of €42 million.

He has won the Premier League title, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup amongst other trophies at the club.

Several individuals have in recent seasons now placed him above Steven Gerrard in terms of their greatness at Liverpool, due to the fact that he was able to guide the club to win the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah has scored 202 goals and provided 87 goals in 330 appearances for Liverpool, in comparison to Steven Gerrard's 186 goals and 157 assists in 710 games for the Reds.

However, an argument that can be made for Gerrard is that he was a midfielder, while Salah is a winger, who has goalscoring responsibilities on his shoulders.

Steven Gerrard won everything to be won at Liverpool, but unfortunately in his about 2-decade stay at the club, he could galvanize the team to win the Premier League title.

This appears to be a debate between recency bias and nostalgia, as several arguments can be made for and against it.

Mohamed Salah has practically done everything that a player can do, but there is this affinity that older fans have for Gerrard.

Possibly, this is due to him being an academy product of the English side and as such they saw him grow to stardom.

Salah had to earn the respect, admiration, and love of Liverpool supporters as a result of his performances.

It is difficult to choose between the two players but they are certainly legendary players of Liverpool.

Steven Gerrard is considered to be one of the greatest midfielders ever due to his brilliance in the middle of the park for the Reds.

In terms of loyalty, he is also a faithful servant of Liverpool, and he displayed that by spending about 2 decades at the club.

The 43-year-old currently manages Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, and there is every possibility that he can become the manager of Liverpool in the coming years.

Mohamed Salah is still a player of Liverpool, and he was recently on target in their 1-1 draw with Arsenal, curling a brilliant effort past David Raya in goal for the Gunners.

Salah has scored 16 goals and provided 8 assists in 25 appearances for the Reds across all competitions.
