In a recent video, Nigerian policeman CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, called for the regulation of prank videos which is becoming rampant.

He said, "I want to speak on this new rampant development of people doing pranks. All the time, we have seen that this development is becoming so dangerous and exposing so many people to unnecessary dangers, all sort of dangers in our society.

Those who do pranks, they risk their lives a lot and they expose themselves to a lot of danger and of course they expose lives of other people to danger. So I think there's need for us to speak on that. There's need for us to advise our people.

In as much as we can't ask you not to do your business,it is becoming so rampant and becoming so dangerous."

He spoke about how pranksters approach security operatives in the name of prank. He said those people who are being pranked might think it's actually true when in fact, it is not. Therefore, they should stay away from anything that can land them in trouble.

He stated that making pranks will soon be regulated but this is a warning to the general public to caution themselves before they start taking action.

He expressed his concerns about a video which surfaced online months ago about a man picking up a cane to beat a young lady all in the name of prank.

"You won't want to be blaming our men on operation that they've taken an innocent person. At that time, are you really an innocent person or you're to be treated as an armed robber or a criminal?

We want to appeal to you. Let's be mindful of what we do. Be on the same page with us. Let us do everything in moderation. Let us have decorum in what we do. If you cannot regulate it, stop producing pranks at all levels." He said.
