Jadon Sancho was in an argumentative state with Niclas Fullkrug as the Englishman pleaded that he be given the chance to take a penalty he had won for the team.

The clash against Cologne which was marred by protests from fans was Sancho's second appearance since he returned to the German club.

Jadon Sancho has been impressive since returning to Borussia Dortmund, as he recorded an assist in his first game for the team and subsequently recorded a penalty in the following game.

The former Manchester City man did some excellent footwork to get into the penalty area before he was fouled by Cologne defender Rasmus Carstensen.

Carstensen pulled back Sancho, sending the winger tumbling and that resulted in a penalty being awarded.

After the penalty was awarded to the Black and Yellows, Jadon Sancho was seen arguing with striker Fullkrug, and he was seen apparently saying: “Gimme the ball, gimme the ball”.

Niclas Fullkrug didn't accede to the requests of Sancho and he moments later tucked away the spot kick.

Jadon Sancho wasn't angered by the decision of his new teammate and as such, joined him in celebrating the goal.

Borussia Dortmund secured a thumping 4-0 victory over Cologne, with Donyell Melen netting a brace in the 12th and 61st minute respectively.

Fullkrug's netted the penalty in the 58th minute, while Youssoufa Moukoko, who was brought on in place of the German forward, put the icing on the cake in the 2nd minute of stoppage time.

Jadon Sancho was substituted in the 66th minute of the league clash, coming off for Jamie Brynoe-Gittens.

The 23-year-old will be delighted with how his career has seemingly gotten back on track, following his squabble with Erik Ten Hag which led to him being absent from several matches after being ostracized from the first team.

Anyway, Borussia Dortmund sit 5th on the German Bundesliga table, with 33 points from 18 league matches.

They are level on points with 4th place RB Leipzig, however, the Red Bulls have a better goal difference of +19 compared to Edin Terzic's side of +12.

Terzic will be happy with the attacking names he has in his fold and their ability to create magic for the Black and Yellows.

They are unbeaten so far in 2024, with 2 back-to-back league wins; defeating SV Darmstadt 3-0 and following that up, with a 4-0 smashing victory over Cologne.

Jadon Sancho has made 139 appearances for Borussia Dortmund cumulatively, scoring 50 goals and providing 66 assists in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund return to action on Sunday, January 28, 2024, facing VFL Bochum, in a matchday 19 German Bundesliga action.

Sancho will be hoping that he can prove more doubters wrong, as he dons the colors of the Black and Yellows.
