Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB announces the commencement of registration for the 2021 UTME exam.
The announcement was made on the 24th of March, stating that candidates must provide their National Identification Number (NIN) for registration.
It will be recalled that late last year, the Nigerian government announced the compulsory registration of her citizen for the National Identification Number and must link the number to their phone numbers. This didn't meet Nigerians well, plus the stress of getting registered in the middle of this pandemic. Many Nigerians failed to register at the first given deadline, which ensured a change of date of the deadline. Without the registration, mobile phone subscribers will have their SIM cards blocked.
According to the JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, "Candidates are also to note that the registration for Direct Entry applicants will run concurrently with that of UTME candidates. There will be no extension of time for the sale of the UTME or DE application documents.
“Mock examination will be held on Friday, April 30 for those who indicate interest and are registered before April 24. UTME will hold from Saturday, June 5 to Saturday, June 19, 2021.”
The registration will take place in 700 accredited centers all over the country and the exam will take place from June 5th to 19th.
The cost of application is fixed at N3500 asides from all other service charges.
The federal government have been finding every possible way to ensure all citizens have the NIN and this is another perfect avenue to utilize and get people registered.
