Everton snatched a point from the jaws of defeat, with a stoppage-time goal against Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs got ahead in the early stages of the game through Richarlison, with a smashing volley into the roof of the net.

Sean Dyche's side equalized in the 30th minute through a sweeping goal from Jack Harrison, with Everton showing their determination to draw level.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Harrison went for the same ball, following a header from James Tarkowski across the six-yard area.

Jack Harrison was the quickest to react and he did well to slam the ball into an empty net.

Four minutes before the expiration of normal time in the opening 45, Richarlison scored his second of the afternoon, a smashing effort from 20 yards out, as he bent the ball into the far corner.

The second half was highly competitive, with both teams going neck and neck at each other, not giving any room for errors or mistakes.

Four yellow cards were witnessed in the second 45, due to how intense the second duration was.

Michael Oliver was the center referee for the affair, and the Evertonians took the entirety of the cards in the second 45.

Ben Godfrey picked the first card of the game in the 60th minute, for dissent after he voiced out his displeasure toward officials after he was cautioned for a foul.

Both clubs continued to have a go at each other, but drama indeed was witnessed late on in the dying embers.

James Garner was also shown a yellow card in the first minute of stoppage time, with manager Sean Dyche also receiving a yellow of his own for his excesses.

Lewis Dobbin was the last player to get his name taken down into the referee's book, for a reckless tackle on Radu Dragusin.

Four minutes into stoppage time, Jarrad Branthwaite sent the stadium into a frenzy, with a headed goal to bring Everton level.

A free-kick was sent into the box and it deflected towards the goal Branthwaite pounced in time to drive home a header beyond the reach of Guglielmo Vicario.

Tottenham Hotspur felt gutted to have lost their guard in the late stages and ultimately infuriated to drop 3 points moments before the full-time whistle.

The home side fought hard and rightly so, snatched a valuable point from the jaws of defeat.

Spurs return to action on Saturday, February 10, 2024, facing Brighton and Hove Albion at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London.

Meanwhile, Everton visit the Etihad to play Manchester City on Saturday, February 10, 2024, for their next league encounter.
