Jose Mourinho has dubbed himself “Harry Potter” because he has elevated the expectations of AS Roma fans.

Mourinho has claimed that fans of the Giallorossi are the “most incredible” that he has seen in his career.

Jose Mourinho was appointed as manager of the Serie A club on July 1, 2021, and his current deal with the club expires on June 30, 2024.

The Portuguese led AS Roma to their first European title in 2022, defeating Feyenoord by a lone goal in the final.

Nicolo Zaniolo's goal in the 32nd minute was enough to aid Mourinho in making history at Roma.

Jose Mourinho was also on the verge of leading the Rome-based club to another trophy in the 2022/23 season, but he couldn't get past the last hurdle of Sevilla in the Europa League final.

The 60-year-old tweaked his side to be resolute and sturdy against the Spanish side, but having played out a draw in regulation time, they didn't have the guts and grits to withstand the pressure of penalties.

Paulo Dybala had put AS Roma ahead in the 35th minute before Gianluca Mancini equalized for Sevilla 5 minutes before the hour mark.

Mourinho's side have had an underwhelming outing in the 2023/24 season, as they sit 9th on the Serie A table with 29 points from 19 matches.

They will be aiming to finish the season on a great note and possibly sneak a Champions League spot via the league, however, that looks highly unlikely.

Anyway, they are still in the UEFA Europa League and can gain a spot in the UEFA Champions League through the competition.

Jose Mourinho will be hoping that his side can defeat Feyenoord in both legs of their Round of 32 meeting.

Meanwhile, AS Roma aren't a trophy-laden club in comparison to some of the other big teams in Europe.

However, they have also won trophies of their own in the past. The Giallorossi have won 3 Serie A titles in history, 9 Coppa Italia, 2 Supercoppa, and 1 UEFA Europa Conference League.

Possibly the club's history is a reason why Jose Mourinho made his claims and assertions on the expectations of AS Roma supporters.

It will be interesting to see how the Italian club fairs in the coming games, with several matches still left to play this campaign.

Jose Mourinho's side return to action on Sunday, January 14, 2024, facing AC Milan in a Matchday 20 league action.

Mourinho will not be in the technical area for the game against the Rossoneri after he picked up a Red Card in Roma's last league game against Atalanta.

The Portuguese is still as passionate as ever and his passion has driven him to several limits throughout his career.
