Kevin De Bruyne, who is currently nursing a harmstring injury, is believed to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

De Bruyne has been the engine room in Pep Guardiola's Manchester City winning machine. He is known for his creativity and playmaking roles, and has inspired the club to several Premier League league titles, including the Champions League.

While starring for their respective clubs, it is worth noting the two players once plied their trade with Chelsea under Jose Mourinho.

It is still unclear whether Salah and De Bruyne would have attained their current heights of success in the Premier League if they stayed at Stamford Bridge.

However, their glittering careers with Liverpool and Manchester City respectively is always an envy of top football clubs.

Chelsea fans definitely would want to keep players in the class of Salah and De Bruyne hence there have been questions on why they were allowed to leave the club.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who is now Roma boss, was incharge of Chelsea when the two players joined the club.

Speaking on Obi Podcast, Jose Mourinho revealed he did not have a hand on the departure of Mo Salah and Kevin De Bruyne. According to him, they left because they wanted to leave and did not want to wait.

"They left because they wanted to leave. They left because they didn’t want to wait. When people tell me, 'You let Salah go', I say exactly the opposite."

"I bought Salah. I was the one who said, 'Buy that guy'. He was going from Basel to Liverpool and I made the fight to make him come to Chelsea," Mourinho added."

Kevin De Bruyne Left Chelsea for Manchester City in 2015 while Mo Salah left in 2016 for Liverpool.

The two players have won the Premier League and Champions League with Manchester City and Liverpool respectively since they left Chelsea, and have been key to their squad.

The turnaround in their career has been massive since they left Chelsea, and it is believed things would have been different if they had chose to stick with Chelsea.
