Popular Nigerian actor, Joseph Benjamin, has revealed how he became a cab deer in the United states of America

Joseph Benjamin is a 46 year old Nollywood actor, singer and TV presenter. He is famous for his roles in movies like Isoken, Tango with me and Mr and Mrs.
Joseph is not married at the moment. He however has 2 children from his ex-wife. He and his ex wife got divorced in 2012 after being married for 8 years.

He has now shared how he went from being a well known actor to a cab driver in the US.
He revealed this on the latest episode of the King of Talks podcast, which is hosted by comedian Teju Babyface.

He revealed that he left Nigeria for the US some times ago after he was promised some gigs in America. He shred that the person later disappointed him and the gigs failed which left him stranded in America

He revealed that he got to America believing he had some gigs awaiting him as he had been promised. He thought hints would be easy and so he packed and bought a one-way ticket to America.

He shared that when he arrived, they set him up in a well-furnished house and everything was good until 2 days later when the person who promised him the gig came and said their financiers had pulled out.
The person then told him that from the following month, he would have to start paying rent in the house they gave him. He said that the rent for a month there was equivalent to thqt a 1 year rent in Nigeria.

He says he had been shocked because he wasn't earning any money and had to think of what to do as he also had nowhere to go.
He says he had come to America with only $1,500, and wondered how he would buy a ticket to return to Nigeria.

He says everything in his life was disorganized and he didn't didn't have a proper saving culture.
He shared that he had sold 90% of his belongings in Nigeria when he was coming to the US.

He says he was asking God what he should do and says he was told ‘Welcome to the life that I arranged for you. I needed to break you away from your comfort zone so that I can build you.’by God.

He says he didn't know where to go from there but for some reason every month e was able to pay his rent.
He also revealed that he got connected to his church and someone gave him a car. He asked what he would do with the car and the person had said Uber. He shared that he then began to drive for Uber and Lyft and that's how it started.
