Jude Bellingham has been suspended for two La Liga matches, due to his red card after Real Madrid's 2-2 draw with Valencia at the Mestalla.

Bellingham thought he had netted the definitive goal of the game six minutes into stoppage time on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

However, referee Gil Manzano had other ideas, as he blew the full-time whistle as the cross was delivered into the area.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) stated that Bellingham displayed “contempt or disregard” towards Manzano when Real players and staff surrounded the referee.

Bellingham was making his return to the game, following three weeks of absence due to an ankle injury.

Jude Bellingham was fined 600 euros for his misdemeanors, while Real Madrid were also slammed with a fine of 700 euros.

The Madrid-based club had appealed against the red card handed to Bellingham, but the RFEF disciplinary committee were defiant to their argument that the referee made an “error”.

Speaking after the 2-2 draw at the Mestalla, Carlo Ancelotti expressed the reason for their anger against the referee.

Ancelotti said: “We were annoyed by Bellingham's red card because he didn't say anything insulting. It was frustration.”

The two-match ban slammed on Jude Bellingham will see him miss the games against Celta Vigo on Sunday, March 10, 2024, and Osasuna on March 16, 2024.

Jude Bellingham will be available for their final clash in March 2024, which is a home fixture against Atletico Bilbao on March 31, 2024.

Bellingham however can return to action with England on March 23, 2024, and March 26, 2024, for the Three Lions friendly against Brazil and Belgium respectively.

Note that the Englishman is available for Los Blancos' Champions League last 16 second leg affair against RB Leipzig at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

Jude Bellingham has netted 20 goals and provided 8 assists in 30 appearances this campaign across all competitions.

His absence from those two fixtures could shake Real Madrid, but Los Blancos should be able to scale through those matches unscathed.

Bellingham has been monstrous since joining the White Angels, scoring crucial and magnificent goals, and helping the Spanish side scale through difficult stages this season.

Jude Bellingham joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund on July 1, 2023, for a fee of €103 million.

Anyway, Carlo Ancelotti's side sit at the summit of the La Liga table, with 66 points from 27 league matches.

Real Madrid are chasing their 36th Spanish top-flight league title, which will see them go 9 points clear of rivals Barcelona, who have won 27 league titles in history.

Los Blancos are also present in the UEFA Champions League and their history obviously makes them one of the favorites to win the competition, although they will have to battle competition from defending champions Manchester City, alongside other gigantic clubs, including; Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
