From suspension to invites of top officials for questioning, it seems the Bola Tinubu administration is not taking a break in making sure those who mismanaged public funds pay dearly. Even those who work in harmony to make sure that he is elected as the president are also facing the heat.
The former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Makurdi, according to The PUNCH. Ortom who ruled Benue State for 8 years is not finding it funny in the state he left behind as many civil servants and even pensioners are complaining of not being paid salaries for months even though the state receives allocation from the FG.
The issue of payments of salaries has been an issue in the Benue region as the previous Governor of Benue State before Ortom, Gabriel Suswam also had issues of unpaid salaries and gratuities left unsettled. How is the Alia government going to solve this issue? That we don’t know, but the first step is making sure that those who mismanaged the funds meant for state revitalization be brought to book.
According to Punch Newspapers reports, Ortom came to the anti-graft agency's Makurdi zonal office on Alor Gordon Street around 10 a.m. on Tuesday after honouring an invitation from the zonal office in Makurdi.
