Kano auto crash claims 17 lives, 3 injured, says FRSC
An auto crash in Yaura village on Wudil-Bauchi Road occurred in Kano state yesterday, March 16, 2023.
Nothing less than 17 people have been confirmed dead while three are injured as a result of the crash.
Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi who is the Kano Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, has confirmed this incident.
Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi has revealed that the vehicles involved in the accident are Honda Accord having the registration number NSR 81 VW, and Volkswagen Sharon ( a bus) having the registration number NNG 275 XA.
He mentioned that 21 people were involved in the crash between the 2 vehicles.
Out of these 21 passengers, 11 adult males, 5 adult females and 1 male child were the ones who died in the crash. 3 others including 1 adult male and female and 1 child are injured.
The FRSC Sector Commander revealed that the crash resulted from over speeding, wrong overtaking which caused a loss of control of the car. The vehicle that lost control crashed Headon into another vehicle and they burst into fire immediately.
He mentioned that those who were injured have been rushed to the hospital for treatment. They took them to the Wudil General Hospital. The corpses of the deceased have been handed over to their families.
Mr Ibrahim sympathized with the families of the victims and he prayed for the families of the bereaved.
He also advised motorists to learn to obey traffic rules and regulations so as to prevent such accidents.
