Kidnappers abduct farmer in Oyo State, demand for N30m as ransom

Some kidnappers have abducted a farmer in Oyo state and have placed demands for a sum of N30 million naira as ransom.

The man who is a cattle dealer has been identified as Olushola Ayanshola. His family has been asked to pay a sum of N30 million for his release.

This man, Ayanshola, was returning from his farm on Sunday evening around 6pm. The farm is located around Alaga Road, in Otu town in the state.

Some Gunmen had double crossed him and shot into the air which scared people around.
They then abducted him. The police efforts to locate him have been fruitless.

This man's son revealed that they had been contacted to pay this huge amount. He said his father had pleaded with them to try to get the money because the kidnappers had tied him in a bush somewhere.

Those who witnessed this but escaped mentioned they had run into hiding when they heard gunshots. They didn't come out until the shots had stopped

They said the victim had also attempted to run but he was the target so they still took him.
The victim's motorcycle was abandoned at the crime scene.

The son also revealed that when they had heard about the attack they had called his father's phone but it was switched off. It was the following day, a number called to ask for ransom. His father had spoken and explained what had happened. The kidnappers gave him a phone to contact his family about the ransom.

The kidnappers had said 50 million originally but he please and they brought it down to 30 million.

The father told his family to sell his property so as to raise the money but they still can't raise N30 million because the property isn't worth up to that.

The son said he had tried speaking with one of the kidnappers,l but the man only understands Hausa.
He revealed they have sold 2 cows and have been able to raise only N500,000.

They have reported the case to the police. The Amotekun Corps who heard about this incident searched through the bush but didn't find them.

They said the kidnappers then called them and mentioned they are aware through their informants that Amotekun is searching for them and threatened to kill the man if they don't stop.
