The abductors of the Ekiti school children and four staff members of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure Ekiti have threatened to kill the pupils if their parents fail to pay the ransom.

This group of kidnappers attacked a school bus filled with over 25 school kids of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure-Ekiti while returning home from school. This also happened the same week some Fulani herdsmen murdered two traditional rulers in Ekiti State.

According to the parents of the abducted kids, the kidnappers demanded a N100M ransom for the release of their children. After negotiation with the kidnappers, it was reduced to a sum of N15M. The abductors, however, warned the parents to hasten up because their children were getting weak. They also threatened to kill them if they failed to deliver the ransom on time.
