The wife of popular US rapper, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian is officially a billionaire, as announced by Forbes. The American reality TV show star was first mentioned on Forbes magazine in 2011, then, she was worth $55 million.
Up from $780 million, as announced in October 2020 by Forbes, she officially joins the billionaire club, thanks to her booming businesses, KKW Beauty and Skims, endorsement deals, her mobile games, and other investments. She launched 300,000 contour kits units, which sold out in two hours of launch.
She expanded the business into eyeshadows, concealers, lipsticks, and fragrances, in 2018 and was making sales of about b$100 million.
In 2020, she sold 20% of KKW beauty to a cosmetic company (Coty) that had bought a 51% of her sister, Kylie Jenner's 'Kylie Cosmetics'. After selling, the remaining 72% of hers is still valued at $500 million by Forbes.
She currently have 69.6 million Twitter followers and 213 million followers on Instagram, which she leverages with her products. During the pandemic, she shifted focus to loungewear, when it seems most people want to wear comfy clothes, being at home.
Kim Kardashian has three properties in the northwest of Los Angeles, Calabasas, and a portfolio of blue-chip investments, including shares of Netflix, Disney, Amazon, and Adidas that her husband Kanye West gifted her for Christmas in 2017 to her name.
She currently features on the reality Tv show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, a show that features the Kardashian sisters and their mother.
