A man who is a resident of Kwara State died after being chased by a dog. This man has been identified as Mohammed Faworaja.
The incident happened in Ilorin yesterday, Thursday.
The man was being chased by a German shepherd dog when he ran into an electric pole. This was around Asa Dam in the Warah-Osin area located in the Ilorin West Local Government Area.
A witness revealed that this dog had gotten loose and chased this man who ran into the pole. He had hit his chest so hard and this was what led to his untimely death.
The man had died of internal bleeding. The incident occured when he went to buy Sardine. The Sardine he bought was seen at the seen of the incident next to the pole.
Sources reveal that this man was the breadwinner in his family. The situation is such a sad one. The family was devastated when they heard the news. We hope for comfort for the family.
The police have launched an investigation into this matter.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, was contacted and he has confirmed the incident.
They revealed that the police has arrested the owner of the dog and investigation is on going.
