Kwara man sentenced to death for killing his neighbour

A man has been sentenced to death in kwara state for killing his neighbour. This man was gousn guilty of killing his neighbour just a few days before his wedding. This was in 2021.

This man has been identified as Mohammed Kazeem Beiwa and the neighbour who he killed has also been identified as Olokose Ojo Olushola.

It was Justice S. M. Akanbi of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin who pronounced this sentence on the man.

The court also gave his accomplices who are 2 in number 10 years imprisonment and a fine of N100,000 each. These 2 accomplices have been identified as Madu Jeremiah and Mohammed Chatta.
There was a 4th person but he was set free by the court due to lack of diligent prosecution. He has been identified as Jimoh Abdulateef

The 4 of them had been brought before the court on account of eight count charges which included conspiracy, kidnapping, culpable homicide, illegal possession of firearms, and illegal removal of human parts.

These 4 defendants had attacked and kidnapped the deceased victim in home. This had happened just a few days before his wedding in Ilorin and then killed him.

They abducted, killed and went ahead to dismember the body of the victim. They also contacted the family to negotiate ransom for his release after they had already killed him.

During the trial, 9 witnesses had been called before the court and also several exhibits were presented to the court.
Justice Akanbi then found 3 out of the 4 accused people guilty of 4 of the criminal charges that had been leveled against them.

The first defendant was sentenced to death by hanging while the other two were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with N100,000 fine based on different counts.
