Kwara women hold rally for Governor Abdulrazaq’s second term
A large group of women in kwara state,Nigeria held a rally today to mobilize support for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's second term.
The group was led by some cabinet members today, Saturday, March 11, 2023.
They held this as part of a series of activities to mark the International Women’s Day (IWD) which was held a few days ago on the 8th of March.
The rally spanned several streets in ilorin. The women could be seen holding banners and marching across the streets.
Ms Florence Oyeyemi who is the commissioner for Finance spoke up and mentioned this was a celebration of the International Women’s Day. She mentioned that many women living in kwara came out to support this movement.
They held this rally to show their support for the Governor's re-election.
She also added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in kwara state had produced the highest number of women who contest for political positions in Nigeria.
She added that this was something the governor has helped achieve through gender inclusion.
The rally was an appreciation to governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support.
There were some dignitaries present at the rally including the Commissioner for Women Affairs in person of Hajiya Hassana Ahmed and the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hajiya Mopelola Bashir-Abdulmalik as well as Mrs Monsura Gafar who is the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.
