Kylian Mbappe is set to leave Paris Saint Germain for Real Madrid this summer, in a deal worth a whopping €250 million.

Based on reports from French news media outlet PSG Community, Mbappe will be joining the Spanish giants this summer.

Real Madrid are on the brink of smashing the €222 million transfer fee spent by Le Parisien in signing Neymar from Barcelona in 2017.

Following a meeting involving the Emir of Qatar and Fiorentino Perez, they reportedly reached an agreement for the transfer of Kylian Mbappe.

The deal as earlier indicated is expected to be worth about €250 million, and it includes €50 million in bonuses.

Mbappe's current deal with Paris Saint Germain will expire in the summer of 2024, and it doesn't appear like the Frenchman wants to continue his stay in France.

The former Monaco attacker told PSG in June that he will not be activating the option of an additional year.

That has ultimately resulted in the record 11th Ligue 1 champions possibly being forced to let go of Kylian Mbappe in order not to risk losing him for free next summer.

It was reported that negotiations have “accelerated” following a meeting held on Wednesday involving representatives of Real Madrid and PSG's Qatari owners.

However, It will be difficult seeing Real Madrid spend a staggering fee to acquire Mbappe, bearing in mind that he could become a free agent next summer.

Los Blancos have also forked out over €100 million this summer in acquiring Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.

Getting the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner this summer might be an unwise business move taking into consideration the financial cost needed to fund such a deal.

Real Madrid have long been admiring Kylian Mbappe and they almost signed the Frenchman in the summer of 2022.

The Madrid-Mbappe-PSG saga last summer was one that had a lot of individuals shocked.

It appeared like he was joining the 14-time champions of the UEFA Champions League last summer when his previous contract was ending.

However, a rollercoaster of events resulted in the Frenchman putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with an option of a further year.

French President Emmanuel Macron's involvement in ironing things out between Kylian Mbappe and PSG had an influence in the 24-year-old remaining in Paris.

There were also promises that he will have a key role to play in the club and that led to him penning a new deal at the Parc Des Princes.

In spite of the seemingly inhospitable atmosphere at the French capital for Kylian Mbappe, the Frenchman is Paris Saint Germain's all-time top scorer with 212 goals.

Joining Real Madrid will boost his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or as it looks like he isn't giving the plaudits he deserves because he plys his trade in France.

He joined Paris Saint Germain initially on loan in 2017, before signing permanently in a deal estimated to be about €180 million the following summer.

Definitely, it's now a matter of when and not if Kylian Mbappe will exit Paris Saint Germain as it looks like from all indications his chapter with the Parisians is nearing its expiration.
