Javier Tebas, La Liga president has named the current three best players in the world.
In an interview with the Spanish outlet, L’Equipe, Tebas chose Erling Haaland of Manchester City, Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid, and Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint Germain.
Speaking about the three players, Tebas said; "In my view, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland and Mbappe are the three most dominant players on the planet, and two of them are at Real Madrid".
Haaland was widely anticipated to win the Ballon d’Or last year, but Lionel Messi controversially bagged a record-extending eighth award.
Mbappe, on the other hand, finished in third place behind Messi and Haaland.
But both players, along with Bellingham, are expected to contest for the top individual prizes this year.
Javier Tebas provides Kylian Mbappe transfer update
La Liga president Javier Tebas said on Saturday, February 24, that there is a 99% chance that Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid this summer.
According to reports, the former Monaco player and Madrid are in discussions, with the club optimistic about a positive outcome, after reporters confirmed that the 2018 World Cup winner informed Paris Saint-Germain that he plans to depart when his contract expires in June.
Tebas told French newspaper L'Équipe, he said: "Knowing that he's leaving PSG, there's a 99% chance that Mbappe will sign for Real Madrid, but I don't know if he's already signed".
He added; "It's great news for Real Madrid and Spanish football. (Mbappe) is one of the best players in the world. In my view, (Jude) Bellingham, (Erling) Haaland, and Mbappe are the three most dominant players on the planet, and two of them are at Real Madrid".
Tebas has an often feisty relationship with Madrid and the club's president Florentino Perez, with the two previously battled over Madrid's backing for the European Super League, as well as La Liga's handling of the league's income from television rights.
However, the La Liga president applauded Perez's financial management, which has put Madrid in a position to make a costly deal for Mbappe.
Tebas said; "Real Madrid are a club in an optimal financial situation. The president (Perez) and director general (Jose Angel Sanchez) are very good managers, although they're very bad when they want to organize new competitions.
He added; "At the moment, their financial results are very good and they can spend a lot more than they do. Madrid have been very prudent financially, they've prepared for the signing of Mbappe, they don't have to sell anyone to allow themselves to sign Mbappe".
The French International has long been Real Madrid's top transfer target, with the club coming close to signing him in the summer of 2022 before the forward chose to renew his contract at PSG.
If his move to the Bernabeu is completed, he will join a Madrid team already featuring outstanding players like Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.
Tebas insisted that signings like Mbappe aren't necessary for La Liga in their bid to keep quota with the English Premier League.
Tebas further explained that signing great players is a boost, but it isn't essential.
He said; "Of course, it's best to have big names. Having coaches like Jos Mourinho or Pep Guardiola is useful.
But players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, or Lionel Messi have left and the league is still working well. Despite that, Mbappe will help us to consolidate everything that we've achieved".
