Lagos government seals up 19 event centers for safety reasons.
The Lagos state government has sealed up about 19 event centers in Lagos state due to safety reasons. It was the Lagos safety commission who carried out the action. Lanre Mojola who is the director general of the commission was the one who revealed this in a statement released on Thursday. The statement was released during an on-the-spot assessment of the event centers in Lagos. The assessment was a safety exercise which was directed at promoting the mandate of the commission which is to ensure that there are no accidents.
The commission has warned all event centers prior to these assessments to ensure that they adopt the best safety practices at every event. They are also to register all event which would have above 250 guests and this will enable them to get their event safety permit. After visiting these event centers, the commission had to close 19 of them because they didn’t conform to these safety measures given to them.
Some of the event centers that the commission sealed in Lagos include Majesty, the summit, taste event, Haddasah, villa part, Lekki Coliseum, De Dove, La Madison, white stone, and many others. the commission also disclosed that they will continue to carry out these assessments to ensure safety protocols are carried out in these event centers.
