The Lagos state government has shut down a famous Club in Lagos state named Quilox. This club was shut down due to environmental and safety infractions. This incident occurred on Sunday, the 24th of December. Quilox club is located on Victoria Island, Lagos state. this was revealed in a statement that was released by the Lagos state safety commission on Sunday. They revealed that this was a joint operation between the Lagos state environmental protection agency and the Lagos state safety commission.

Both agencies also used this opportunity to warn other social centers like Landmark beach, Sol beach and others to ensure they take into consideration the safety of the citizens and ensure they don’t violate any rules. The statement they released was signed by the Safety commission director general who is Mr Lanre Mojola and also Dr Babatunde Ajayi who is the General manager of LASEPA. One of the reasons behind the shut down of this club may include the heavy traffic that occurs on the road because of this club.

Their statement revealed “A joint enforcement operation between the Lagos state Environmental protection agency and the Lagos state safety commission sealed Quilox nightclub over environmental and safety infractions”. In a post via twitter, the also attached a video of the traffic caused by the club and stated “this is Quilox club as of today, the 24th of December 2023 at 7:30am. When the government takes a final decision on the traffic and environmental nuisance caused by this club. Nobody should cry a witch-hunt”
