The federal government said it has found a link between Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, who is also known as Sunday Igboho, and a company affiliated with a terrorist sponsor.

The government said Igboho had ties to Boko Haram sponsor Surajo Muhammad, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for terrorist financing in the UAE. He also claimed that Igboho received 127 million naira from multiple financiers, including a federal legislature, between 2013 and 2020, despite being unable to reveal the legislature's identity.

According to NAN, the disclosure was made by Attorney General and Justice Minister Abubakar Malami (SAN) during a press conference when he read the results of a presidential committee set up to investigate Igboho and the indigenous people of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Malami said the results revealed that Igboho is the director and signatory of a company - Adesun International Concept Limited - which was registered on April 23, 2010, and has been linked to a sponsor of terrorism.

He said, “The report revealed that Igboho is a director and a signatory of Adesun International Concept Limited, registered April 23, 2010. Adelson International Concept Limited also has Oladele Oyetunji and Aderopo Adeyemo as directors.

“Igboho is linked to 43 bank accounts at 9 banks. "

The minister said the main financier of the fugitive and the separatists is a federal legislature in the National Assembly.

He said: “Between October 23, 2013, and September 28, 2020, Igboho received a total of 127 million naira from its financiers through the accounts of Adesun International Concept Ltd.

“Between March 15, 2013, and March 11, 2021, a total of N273 million was outflowed from Igboho's account.

The investigation revealed that Adesun International Concept Ltd (owned by Igboho) transferred the sum of N12,750,000 to Abbal Bako & Sons.

Malami said: “It can be recalled that Abbal Bako & Sons and its promoter Abdullahi Umar Usman are suspects in the ongoing joint investigation into terrorist financing.

“Abdullahi Umar Usman is linked through a financial transaction with Surajo Muhammad (who was sentenced to life imprisonment for terrorist financing (Boko Haram) in the United Arab Emirates).

“The report revealed, among other things, links to financial transactions between Adesun International Concept Ltd (owned by Igboho) and certain companies and construction companies.

Remember the government has indicated that it is considering bringing new charges against Sunday Igboho after the Oyo State Supreme Court ruling awarded Naira 20 billion in its favor, according to ChannelsTV.

This was announced by Federation Attorney General and Attorney General Abubakar Malami to reporters on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the United States, where he questioned the jurisdiction of the court and suggested that the government not rule out new indictments against Igboho.

However, Malami assured that the federal government remains determined to have a peaceful Nigeria, adding that the government will do whatever is necessary, within the framework of the law, to ensure that the issue receives the attention it deserves to the convict Wrath of the law to be exposed.
