Messi clashed with PSG hierarchy after he undertook an unauthorized business trip to Saudi Arabia. He was slammed with a two weeks ban but the ban was lifted after he tendered an apology to PSG and his teammates for the trip.

Back to action against Ajaccio, it was not a good reception as PSG fans made their feelings clear on the beleaguered forward in the game against Ajaccio.

The French Ligue 1 champions took on Ajaccio in a heated but easy tie at Parc des Princes.

The match, which saw the Ligue 1 giants run out 5-0 winners to close up on the title, was not devoid of dramatic scenes.

Ruiz opened the scoring for the home side in the 22nd minute before Hakimi doubled the lead 11 minutes later.

Kylian Mbappe hit PSG's third early in the second half before he bagged a brace in the 54th minute.

In the 73rd minute, Youssouf's own goal sank Ajaccio as PSG cruised to an easy 5-0 win.

However, the game was marred with heated scuffles that saw both sides reduced to 10 men with straight red cards.

Achraf Hakimi happened to be one of the casualties of the straight red cards - his second straight red card after missing the 3-1 win over Troyes due to a red card ban.

Against Ajaccio, the Morocco international lost his cool against Ajaccio player, Thomas Mangani.

PSG defender Marquinhos had shoved Mangani after the latter seemed to have lost his cool against Lionel Messi in a duel, kicking the Argentine with his boots while the latter was already on the floor.

Hakimi was equally angered by the challenge on Lionel Messi and squared up with Mangani in a scuffle which was later separated by their teammates.

After the scuffle, both Achraf Hakimi and Thomas Mangani, who were at the center of the brawl, were sent off by the referee, Pierre Gaillouste.

Before the brawl, PSG settled for a 5-0 lead. The win saw the club extend their lead on the Ligue 1 table to six points with three matches left to play.

PSG fans jeered Lionel Messi on his return

PSG fans, once again, booed Lionel Messi in his first match after his ban was lifted.

The Argentine playmaker blanked in his first appearance for PSG with the fans registering their displeasure on his subpar delivery for the team.

Lionel Messi's popularity with PSG fans have dwindled after the club crashed out of the Champions League this season.

He will leave PSG at the end of the season as his contract, which is set to expire on June 30, is yet to be renewed.

He was rumored to have sealed a deal with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia but his father and agent, Jorge Messi, debunked the rumor, insisting Messi has not agreed on any deal with any club and will take a decision on his future at the end of the season.
