Manchester United escaped a violent attack by Liverpool fans on their way to Merseyside for the crunch Premier League tie against Liverpool.
The Red Devils' coach had to scale a through a horde of hostile Liverpool fans who launch a reckless attack on the vehicle.
An X user Simon Beach revealed on his handle how some Liverpool fans lurched on Man United team bus throwing a bottle on the vehicle.
Further details of the violent assault revealed the upper deck of United's team was smashed due to the missile. However, it has been confirmed no player or staff was injured in the process.
The attack has been attributed to the historic bitter rivalry between the fanbases of the two clubs. Meanwhile, Liverpool have revealed in a club statement that they are aware of the incident and have pledged to investigate it and bring culprits to book as deterrent to others.
“We are aware of footage of the incident circulating online and are working with Merseyside Police, to fully investigate and identify those responsible.
“Any individuals found guilty of this reprehensible behaviour will also face the full force of the club’s sanction process.”
