Some Liverpool fans were reportedly stranded at Wembley before the Carabao Cup final kickoff against Chelsea.
According to Daily Mail, the Reds fans who secured their digital tickets for the match were denied entry into the facility as the digital tickets failed.
The hiccup led to an endless queue in front of the facility as organizers had to improvise paper tickets for the affected fans.
Footage made available by Daily Mail shows a sea of heads of Liverpool fans queueing up to get their paper tickets printed to secure entrance into the sports complex.
The incident occurred a few hours before the match kicked off and organizers could only secure printed tickets for a sizeable percentage of the fans while others could not gain access to the facility.
"Lots of reports of digital tickets not working outside Wembley with fans having to queue up to get paper ones printed. 'Could be quite a few not in by kick-off," a source tweeted.
Liverpool Help Account also tweeted asking fans to redownload the digital tickets
"If your ticket is showing a barcode, please remove from the wallet and re-download it from the original email. The ticket should then show a QR code which will allow entry into the turns."
Despite the best efforts to contain the situation, some fans who purchased the digital tickets could not make it into the facility before the kickoff.
It is yet undisclosed whether there are plans for a refund for the affected fans. About 85,000 fans purchased printed and digital tickets for the match but the numbers in Wembley dropped to 79,000 due to the digital tickets failure.
Virgil van Dijk scored a late winner as Liverpool stunned Chelsea to win their record-extending 10th Carabao Cup trophy.
