Liverpool have been dealt with an injury blow involving top right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. It is the second time Arnold will miss weeks of action for Liverpool this season due to injury. The 25-year-old was first sidelined for a knee issue in January.
After missing three weeks of action, he was cleared by the club's medical staff to return. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp delicately approached Alexander-Arnold's return, using him as a substitute before playing him for an hour against Arsenal.
In the match against Burley, Arnold was not back to the Red's lineup in the second half with fans fearing he must have picked up another injury issue.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed ''he felt (discomfort) in the same area in the knee. He got it stuck in the grass.''
According to Daily Mail, Alexander-Arnold is set to miss five weeks of action for the Reds following the fresh injury blow. He will miss a number of Premier League matches including the EFL Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley on February 25.
While Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for another spell on the sidelines, depleting Jurgen Klopp's options at the right-back, the team have received a major injury boost in the return of Mohamed Salah. Salah picked up a hamstring issue in 2023 AFCON and has been sidelined for weeks but is now back to training with reports he could be available for selection when the Reds travel to take on Brentford in their next Premier League fixture.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp will have two more right-back options Conor Bradley and Sergio Gomez to stand in for Arnold.
There is no fixed return timeline for Alexander-Arnold but there are estimations he could be back to action in Liverpool's reverse Premier League fixture against Manchester City on March 10.
