Despite rumors of not being the favorite Right Back choice for Southgate, The England manager included Trent Alexander-Arnold in his 26-man squad list.
The Euro tournament will commence on June 11th, with 24 teams divided into 6 groups.
The Portuguese teams are the current holder, which they won against France, thanks to a long-range goal from Eder, on a night filled with emotion and tears. The night saw Portugal captain, Christiano Ronaldo stretchered off early in the game, after a collision with Dmitri Payet.
The English team is going to the 2021 tournament with four right-backs, Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, and Kieran Trippier. It now remains how Gareth Southgate wants to manage the Right backs, with just a spot to fill in, in the tournament.
England is touted to be one of the favorites for the tournament, after a wonderful season of their players at club levels. Some of their players also featured in the ‘All-English’ UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday. Mason Mount, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, and Callum Hudson-Odoi are amongst the Champions League winners, though the latter was not included in the team to EURO.
