Embattled former Spanish football chief Luis Rubiales has denied any financial irregularities during his tenure as Spanish Football Federation president.
The 46-year-old, who is standing trial in the Spanish capital, Madrid, told reporters after the court session that has never mishandled the treasury of the Spanish Football Federation or received ‘brown envelop’ payments as alleged by prosecutors.
“What I maintain, and will always maintain, and I am convinced that justice will (demonstrate), is there has never been any money received in an irregular way,” he said.
Speaking at length on the allegations, the former UEFA Vice President said he has answered all queries asked and is interested in clearing his name and coming out unscathed.
