Mr. Labaran Maku, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, has withdrawn from the race.

Maku, who switched to the PDP three months ago, said he decided to drop out of the governorship race after consulting his family, friends, and key stakeholders in the state.

The former minister was running for governor of Nasarawa State against General Nuhu Bala Angbazo, rtd, and David Ombugadu, both from Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, an investigation revealed that Maku decided to resign after delegates from four local government areas voted for other candidates without giving him a single vote.

Political analysts believe Maku's withdrawal from the race will give the current governor, AA Sule of the APC, an easy victory in the general election in 2023.
