Man arrested for allegedly defiling 9-month-old baby in Lagos
A man has been arrested in Lagos for defiling a 9-month-old baby. The Lagos state police arrested this man from Railway Ijora Badia in Lagos.
This man went into hiding after he had committed this terrible crime but was later fished out and arrested on Tuesday.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin who is the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police command was the one who confirmed this news on Wednesday, March 29.
This case was reported on Monday night around 10pm.
We learnt this man snuck into the apartment where the Baby and mother were. The mother who is just 16 years old, had reportedly gone out to buy something close by when he went into the apartment. She has laid the baby on the floor before going out.
This wicked suspect defiled the baby and ran away immediately. He went into hiding.
When the mother came back, she brought the baby to the police station and a medical form was issued for her to take the baby to the hospital.
Eventually, on Tuesday night, the suspect was found out in his hiding place by detectives from the Division.
The suspect confessed to the crime when he was being interrogated.
The police have visited the crime scene and taken photographs and recovered stained underwear from the scene.
Mr Hundeyin has said that the case file and suspect would be transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos state command
