Man arrested for stealing gas cylinder from police barracks
3 men have been arrested for stealing a gas cylinder from a police barrack recently.
They have been sentenced to 9 years and 5 months imprisonment by the Magistrate.
These men have been identified as Friday Effiong, Michael Chukwu and Alex Essien. They were sentenced to jail on Thursday for stealing.
Oluwatosin Erinle, who is the magistrate, sentenced them after they pleaded guilty to these crimes.
The police had placed charges of stealing, conspiracy and Bulgaria on them. They were arraigned on the 11th of April.
The prosecutor told the court that these men stole a 6kg gas cylinder and the burner he revealed that the value of the items are 20,000.
The incident had taken place at the Falomo Police Barracks in Ikoyi, Lago state by 8:40pm.
This belonged to a man named Abdulazeez Animashaun.
The first convict was sentenced by the magistrate to 5 years and 8 months imprisonment, while the second convict was sentenced to 9 months imprisonment.
