Court sentences man for raping a 18-year old girl in Kwara State.
A man known as Tashiu Aminu Lulu has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for raping a 18-year old girl known as Halirat Ismaila in Kwara North Senatorial District.
The convict was arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) after he committed the offense and was reported by Halirat.
According to the girl, Tashiu Aminu called her to come over to his house and she went immediately. She said as soon as she got there, he commanded her to take off her clothes which she did unconsciously.
Before the convict slept with her, he took out a razor blade and cut some hair from her head, armpit and private part. He then asked her to recite some incantations while carrying a calabash in her hands and he forced himself on her.
She told the police that she had been having nightmares since her encounter with Tashiu Aminu.
The magistrate court that presided over the case charged Aminu with criminal charm, gross indecency and assault and was sentenced to a five-year jail term in Okekura prison in Ilorin.
