Man rapes his wife’s apprentice who later commits suicide
A man has found to have sexualky assaulted his wife's apprentice. This apprentice has sadly now committed suicide.
This incident happened in Eruwa community, located in the Ibarapa East Local Government Area in Oyo State.
This man has been identified as Ajibode and he allegedly raped a young girl who happens to be his wife's apprentice. This young girl is 16 years old.
She has been identified as Olayemi Agbeloba. She was learning fashion designing from the man's wife and was living with them. She would sometimes assist with chores too.
This young girl who was the victim then committed suicide after the assualt.
The culprit had threatened this girl that he would kill her if she told anyone.
This man has assukyed on the 23rd of June, 2023. He went into her room and raped her in the house.
The young girl then drank a substance which they suspected was insecticide and she sadly passed away.
They contacted the girls father who has reported the case at the police station. The police have arrested this man.
The girls father said that she had been living with this couple for 6 months while learning some handiwork and craft.
He said he suddenly heard that his daughter had died after driking insecticide. He says the hospital she was taken to also confirmed what she drank.
Ever since the police arrested this man Ajibode, he had been boasting of how he knows people and nothing could happen to him.
SP Adewale Osifeso who is the state Police Public Relations Officer has confirmed the incident. He revealed that this case was reported at the Eruwa Divisional Police Headquarters.
He said investigations are on going and he woukd provide further updates.
