Man sentenced to jail over attempted robbery in Lagos state.


A man has been sentenced to jail over attempted robbery in Lagos State. This man has been identified as Temitope Olowo and he was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.

It was a Lagos State High Court sitting that pronounced this sentence on thisan. The court sitting held at the Tafawa Balewa Square area in Lagos.

This was yesterday, Tuesday July 4. His crimes were attempted robbery.

It was Justice Yetunde Adesanya who pronounced this judgment on the man and this was after they made a plea bargain application.

This is jot the first time this man will be arraigned in court. He was first arraigned on the 9th of November in 2018. This was on three-count charges which bordered on arm robbery. Then he pleaded not guilty to these charges.

It was after a plea bargain that they amended the charge. It was the defendant's counsel who filed for this plea on his behalf.

It was when the case was brought up again for hearing yesterday that the court was told about the amended charge.

This man actually committed the crime on the 26th of July, 2017 in Lagos.
He attempted to rob a man named Desmond Ifeanyi.

The Justice found him guilty and pronounced the sentence.
