A man was arrested by the police after throwing eggs at King Charles and Camilla, the Queen Consort, during a walkabout in York recently.

A picture showed the police officers holding down the suspect after the incident happened.

He was restrained on the ground behind temporary fencing set up at Micklegate Bar in the city for the king’s visit on Wednesday.

The incident happened when The king and queen consort were being ushered and warmly welcomed to York by the city leaders when a man who appears to be a protester threw three eggs at them.

The king and queen consort paid a visit to Yorkshire on Wednesday, 9th of November, 2022, for an assignment in the city.

Their assignment included the event at which the statue of the late Queen Elizabeth II, was to be unveiled.

This is the first statue of the late queen after her death. This ceremony and the stature that was built was to honor the late Queen for her contributions and good works.

The culprit, who started a ruckus was shouting at the royals as he threw the eggs at them before he was quickly restrained.

Fortunately for the royals and unfortunately for the protester, all of the eggs missed their targets. The king and Queen were ushered away quickly.

Some of the people in the crowd that gathered were in support of what the man had done while others were against him as they shouted "shame on you" at the man who caused the ruckus.

This incident however did not affect the King as he continued greeting the people who came to welcome him into the city. He paid no mind to the man who was shouting as he was detained.
