Manchester City won this years premier league title by just 1 point, the closest team was Liverpool who has just one point and also nearly won the Premier League title today.
Manchester City have been crowned champions of the 2021-2022 Premier League campaign for the second successive season in front of their home fans. They won the league after surviving a great scare from a resilient coach Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa on the last day of the campaign. The Soccer game was so serious.
Coach Pep Guardiola and his boys came from two goals down to show that they are worthy champions by scoring three stunning goals in the second half to take the lead.
As champions that they are, City players did not give up. They fought until in the 76th minute when Ilkay Gundogan pulled one back. The goal ignited City to go for the equalizer which they did, thanks to Rodri’s 78th-minute strike.
At that point, the second-placed Liverpool were playing 1-1 with Wolves at Anfield stadium which meant that City were topping the table on goal difference. Hence, the fans of both Manchester City and Liverpool anxiously waited for the team that would take the lead in the different match venues.
To quench the heated tension at the Etihad and Anfield Stadiums, Gundogan stepped up to become the hero by scoring his second of the match and the match-winner in the 81st minute.
