Joshua Kimmich is reportedly close to the exit door at Bayern Munich, with Manchester United and Liverpool said to be interested in getting his services.

Kimmich has been highly sought-after by some of the big clubs in Europe, including; Barcelona and Manchester City.

Joshua Kimmich joined Bayern Munich from VFB Stuttgart on July 2, 2015, for a fee of €8.5 million.

He has made 367 appearances for the Bavarians, scoring 41 goals and providing 100 assists in all competitions.

Kimmich's contract at the Allianz Arena club will expire on June 30, 2025, having signed a four-year deal in 2021.

Joshua Kimmich is a senior player at Bayern Munich, and he has shown his brilliance over the years for the German club.

The 28-year-old has made 20 appearances this campaign, scoring 1 goal and providing 6 assists in all competitions.

Kimmich is widely respected for his versatility, aggression, leadership, and ability to create goal-scoring opportunities.

Joshua Kimmich has been likened to former Bayern Munich legend and captain Philipp Lahm, due to how he plays and functions on the football pitch.

Manchester United are interested in signing Kimmich in order to sort out their issues in midfield, while Liverpool feel the possible addition of the midfielder will bolster their squad in competing for top honors.

The German midfielder has enjoyed a relatively successful career, winning the Bundesliga title all through the years thus far in his career alongside domestic and continental cup competitions.

Kimmich has won 8 German Bundesliga titles, 1 UEFA Champions League, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.

Joshua Kimmich has just one season left on his deal and as such, his future is in the balance.

The former RB Leipzig man's situation is also similar to that of Alphonso Davies, who also has just one season left on his deal with Bayern Munich.

Davies has made 176 appearances for the Bavarians, scoring 8 goals and providing 28 assists in all competitions.

Alphonso Davies joined Bayern Munich from Vancouver Whitecaps on January 1, 2019, for a fee of €14 million.

It is highly unlikely that the Munich-based club will lose both players, but it is certainly not impossible.

Davies and Kimmich are important players for Bayern Munich, and it can be expected that they discuss with both players to reach a standpoint on the next line of action.

Meanwhile, the Bavarians play against FC Basel on Saturday, January 6, 2023, in a friendly encounter, geared towards preparing them for the second half of the campaign.

After they clash with Hoffenheim, they return to Bundesliga action on Friday, January 12, 2023.

They are currently involved in a tight race with Xabi Alonso's Bayern Leverkusen for the league title, as they sit 2nd on the table with 38 points from 15 matches.

Leverkusen sit 1st on the log, with 42 points from 16 matches, and they are keen on claiming the title away from the grip of Bayern Munich.
