Manchester United fans have reacted to a classic and prudential decision by Sir Jim Ratcliffe to replace former Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold with Paris-born football guru Omar Berrada.

Manchester United confirmed the appointment of Omar Berrada as the club's football chief a few hours after Manchester City confirmed his resignation from the club.

Omar Berrada has been one of the most important administrative figures in Manchester City's football operations. He has been credited for the overwhelming success recorded by City in the pass decade since he joined the club as chief football operations officer.

The dramatic switch between the two cross-city rivals has been described as a coup plotted and executed by Manchester United's new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Sources close to Omar Berrada revealed the revered and experienced football officer was impressed with how Sir Jim Ratcliffe came into the reins at Old Trafford as well as his project plan for the club.

Manchester United fans have been giddy with the emergence of Omar Berrada as the club's new CEO as they hope to have the former Barcelona football chief reorder the footballing operations at Old Trafford and set the club en route to success as their cross
-city rivals Manchester City.

@glazerscashcow wrote; "No drama, no fuss, just quietly going about their business.

Everything so far from INEOS screams of an efficiency that has been missing from #MUFC for a long time.

This appointment gets me excited more than any player because the club are putting solid foundations in place "

Another fan wrote; "Ineos taking pot shots is good to see .

"The Club is determined to put football and performance on the pitch back at the heart of everything we do"

From the foregoing, there is a brewing optimism among United fans that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will bring about the needed changes at Old Trafford going by the appointment of Omar Berrada as new CEO.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is yet to have his £1.3bn stake for 25% of Manchester United ratified by the Premier League but has started head-on with his transformational agenda after United's board passed his bid. He was in attendance at Old Trafford when Manchester United drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
