Paris Saint-Germain are waiting to find out Kylian Mbappe's plans, but it's uncertain which path the Frenchman will choose.

As a result, PSG are making preparations and have identified a potential attacking candidate.

Reports suggest that the Ligue 1 club need a young and dependable player to fill in for their star, with Marcus Rashford being mentioned as a possible replacement.

According to The Sun, the French giants have shown interest in United star Rashford, but it is not expected that they will pursue the Manchester United forward anymore.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are interested in Mbappe but are unwilling to meet his reported demand of €100 million per season.

On the other hand, PSG are prepared to keep the French star at all costs with the report revealing that the Parisians are ready to meet Mbappe's financial demands to retain him.

However, Mbappé finds Real Madrid's project appealing, raising the risk of PSG losing him.

Meanwhile, the Manchester United left winger, who is under contract until the summer of 2028, is experiencing a challenging season in the Premier League, making his potential departure less surprising.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi praised Rashford as an "amazing player" during the 2022 Qatar World Cup and hinted at interest in signing him on a free transfer due to his expiring contract then but the deal was thwarted after Rashford extended his contract with his boyhood club.

However, if United are willing to sell this summer, Rashford's departure would command a substantial fee.

But SunSport further reported that the 26-year-old England forward is not being considered as a possible recruit by PSG at this time. It is rumored that the club are looking at other targets, including Napoli's Victor Osimhen according to The Sun.

Marcus Rashford has tested the patience of the Red Devils and coach Erik Ten Hag with serious disciplinary problems and a recent scandal resulting in a fine and public ridicule.

This season, the 26-year-old has not been performing at his best, only scoring four goals.

Furthermore, his decision-making off the field has attracted criticism and scrutiny.

Ten Hag described Rashford's choice to attend a nightclub party after the 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City in October as "unacceptable".

Also, there have been reports of Rashford attending late-night escapades in recent days.

As for Mbappe, his massive contract is set to expire in the summer and while there is a chance he could renew, it is more likely he will move, with Real Madrid being his rumored next destination.

He is free to negotiate with foreign clubs for a potential free transfer in the summer.

If the 25-year-old France superstar does leave, PSG are expected to sign multiple players to replace him, with plenty of cash to spend but Rashford is out of their radar.
