Manchester United injury crisis has deepened with Mason Mount being the latest player to join the sidelines.
Mount reportedly picked up a calf injury and could be out of action for at least a month before returning back to the squad.
It is the second time the former Chelsea star has been injured since completing a move to the Old Trafford club in the summer.
Mount is yet to get off the mark in his Man United career after joining the club for £55m.
He is yet to find the back of the net and neither provide an assist. His underwhelming start to the life at Old Trafford took a turn for the worst following his first lengthy injury layoff early in the season.
He has made appearances for the club and is yet to cement to his place in Erik ten Hag's squad.
The current injury blow is a further setback to Mount. It has been confirmed he will not make United's squad for the Premier League clash against Everton on Sunday.
He is also expected to miss United's make-or-mar Champions League match against Galatasaray in Turkey, including United's next two domestic fixtures against Newcastle United and Chelsea.
Mount adds to Man United crippling injury crisis
Manchester United have been sweating with a long list of injured players since the beginning of the campaign.
Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez are yet to return to action for the club and have been on lengthy layoffs due to injuries.
Casemiro is also nursing an injury and has been ruled out of action for the club.
Short-term loanee from Tottenham Hotspur Sergio Reguilon, Fiorentina loanee Sofyan Amrabat, Christian Eriksen, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, have all had their spells on the sidelines this season.
It seemed United were gradually getting off the hooks of recurrent injuries with Luke Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Christian Eriksen, Amrabat, all returning to action but Mason Mount's second injury blow calls for concern.
United reportedly undertook an investigation to unravel the immediate causes of the crippling injury crisis with reports linking it with an apparently obsolete medical infrastructure which must have suffered neglect by the Glazers.
Despite the gloomy outlook of things at Old Trafford, United fans are optimistic of a new dawn with football investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe close to taking over the club's sporting/football operations with his £1.3bn bid for 25% ownership.
Sir Jim is reportedly ready to overhaul United's sporting sector with such efforts expected to have a telling impact on the club's medical infrastructure as well.
