Manchester United have reaffirmed their interest in keeping Aaron Wan-Bissaka at Old Trafford despite interests from European rivals.
According to the Sun, United have recently turned down a swap deal from Serie A giants Inter Milan for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Inter Milan reportedly wanted to swap one of their best defenders Denzel Dumfries, 27, for Wan-Bissaka, 26.
Sources close to the club revealed the Nerazzuri opted for the swap deal following a dragging contract row between the club and Dumfries.
Dumfries is among the least-paid Inter Milan and Serie A footballers. The Dutch's weekly wage is £35,000. With one-and-a-half-year year left on his contract, Dumfries is reportedly pressing for a wage increase if he is to pen down a new deal with the club.
Close sources reveal the 27-year-old wants his current wages with the Nerazzuri to be doubled to as much as £80,000 weekly.
It is understood Inter Milan are not keen on offering Dumfries as much, hence the decision to part ways with the player through a swap deal for Aaron-Wan Wan-Bissaka
They have reportedly tabled the swap offer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United but have been turned down.
United consider Wan-Bissaka key to Erik ten Hag's Man United squad. The English defender has made 12 Premier League appearances for Manchester United this season with 10 starts. United recently triggered the extension clause on his contract to ward off suitors while buying time to negotiate fresh terms with the player.
Denzel Dumfries is considered one of the best right-backs in Serie A. Nevertheless, Inter's swap offer to Manchester United to have the Dutch and allow Wan-Bissaka move in the opposite direction is cannot go through.
United are keen on keeping Wan-Bissaka and are not ready to trade the player for another as things stand.
