The introduction of new rules to the Premier League isn't being welcomed in good light as Fulham manager Marco Silva voiced out his frustration over a decision.
Marcos Silva has reacted to the dismissal of Fulham defender Tim Ream in their 3-0 loss against Brentford.
Tim Ream was sent off in the 64th minute of the encounter, after receiving a Red card for a foul on Yoane Wissa in the 18-yard box.
Brentford were handed a penalty and Ream was sent off after being handed a second yellow card.
Bryan Mbuemo scored the resultant penalty, sending the spot kick into the bottom left corner in the 66th minute of proceedings.
Fulham boss Marco Silva were in disbelief over the decision and in the post-match presser, he expressed his thoughts.
Silva said: “Looking at the moment it's really difficult. I didn't see anything there”.
Fulham commenced the 2023/24 Premier League season, with a 1-0 victory away at Goodison Park against Everton.
However, they fell to their first defeat of the season, losing 0-3 against Thomas Frank's Brentford at Craven Cottage.
Marco Silva also stressed the change being witnessed in the Premier League, and he shared the news for everyone “to get used to it”.
He said: “We'll have over 200 yellows in the first 10 weeks. There are new rules and we have to get used to it.
“The Premier League is totally different now to last season or the season before or 20 years ago. We have to adapt. It's difficult to understand.”
Additionally, Marco Silva expressed how players of Fulham were in disbelief, as they didn't see a blatant error.
The Portuguese said: “I think everyone should be surprised by that situation. Our players couldn't believe it. They didn't see a clear and obvious error.”
Meanwhile, Fulham were without forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has penned a three-year deal with Al Hilal.
Mitrovic has got his desired move and Fulham will pocket a whopping €50 million from his sale.
He scored 111 goals and provided 22 assists in 206 appearances for Fulham across all competitions.
Fulham have found a replacement for the Serbian forward, in the mode of Mexican attacker Raul Jimenez.
Jiminez hasn't scored any goal in two Premier League games for the Cottagers, but he is expected to come good.
He joined Fulham from Wolverhampton Wanderers on July 25, 2023, for a fee of €6.4 million.
Raul Jimenez scored 57 goals and provided 24 assists in 166 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers in all competitions.
