Manchester United have released a statement confirming the club's decision on embattled forward Marcus Rashford.

Rashford stoked reactions when he was spotted partying in a nightclub in Belfast England on Thursday, January 29, and missing training the next day.

As per reports, the England forward told the club he was ill and could not make out for the training session on Friday while he actually wile away time at the Belfast nightclub the preceding day.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag dropped him from United's 4-2 victory over League Two side Newport County as he failed to train with the club.

When Erik ten Hag was asked about Rashford's omission from the squad and the partying scandal, the Dutch replied it was an internal matter left for him and the club's hierarchy to take a decision.

On Monday, January 29, Rashford was spotted with his agent arriving at Carrington early in the morning in a Range Rover for showdown talks with Erik ten Hag.

After meeting and apparently ironing out issues with ten Hag, United have issued a statement revealing Rashford has owned up to his actions. The club also added the matter has been handled as an internal disciplinary issue which has now been closed.

''Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as internal disciplinary matter which is now closed," United club statement reads.

According to BBC Sports, Rashford will now be available for action for Manchester United.

Manchester United's handling of Marcus Rashford's case has raised eyebrows among sections of Man United fans, who have blasted the club for double standards.

Referencing how the club handled Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho's saga, some fans insist Rashford should have been allowed to face the music as the aforementioned and not be treated as a golden egg.

Recall United axed out club legend Cristiano Ronaldo from the squad after his fallout with Erik ten Hag. Jadon Sancho was frozen out of the squad as well for the same disciplinary reasons before being loaned out to Borussia Dortmund.

Meanwhile, it is the second time Erik ten Hag has dropped Rashford from Man United squad for indiscipline after a similar incident last season.

Having scaled through the recent media backlash and Erik ten Hag's sledgehammer, Rashford, who has struggled for form this season, will hope to return to top-level performance for the Red Devils.

He will be expected to be available for selection in Man United's next game against Wolves on Thursday, February 2.
