Mario Balotelli made a shocking statement recently, branding his former manager Brendan Rodgers as a “disaster” and he also termed him to be the worst coach he has ever had in his career so far.

Balotelli featured for Liverpool in the 2014/15 season, and as such played under the Celtic manager.

Mario Balotelli joined Liverpool from AC Milan on August 25, 2023, for a fee of €20 million.

The Italian forward failed to deliver at Anfield, and as such had to seek playing time elsewhere.

Balotelli made 28 appearances in total for Liverpool, scoring 4 goals and providing no assists in all competitions.

Mario Balotelli was sent back to AC Milan on loan, as the Reds tried all they could to get the Italian back to his best.

However, following Balotelli's exit from the club for Nice in 2016, he and Brendan Rodgers were involved in a spat.

The 33-year-old was infuriated that Brendan Rodgers made a joke of him during an interview.

Rodgers had in the past expressed that Mario Balotelli was the best player he had managed, and he also branded him as a “fantastic player”.

Following the statement, Balotelli replied to the Scottish tactician on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating: “Brendan Rodgers you are also the best manager I ever had. Amazing” adding a cry-laughing emoji and a kiss alongside it.

The 33-year-old has been known for his attitude and his supposedly shaky relationship with the majority of managers he has played under.

During his time at Manchester City, Mario Balotelli was involved in several bust-ups with then-City boss Roberto Mancini.

However, Balotelli's recent statements about Brendan Rodgers seemingly stem from his feud with the former Leicester City manager.

The former Inter Milan forward called Rodgers a “disaster” of a human being, before terming him as the “worst” coach he has ever had during a recent interview.

During an interview with TVPlay, Balotelli made this uncanny statement, he said: “Brendan Rodgers is the worst coach I have ever had. He was number one as far as training sessions were concerned, what with keeping possession of the ball and the small-sided games. But as a person, he was a disaster.”

Mario Balotelli and Brendan Rodgers spent just a season together at Liverpool - 2014/15, enduring a hostile relationship.

The Adana Demirspor man as earlier stated had a bad stint at Anfield, as he didn't fit into the style of play employed by Rodgers.

Additionally, his arrival coincided with the departure of Luis Suarez, and as such it was difficult for him to fill that massive void.

Meanwhile, Balotelli as aforementioned currently plays for Adana Demirspor, having joined the Turkish club on a free transfer ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The 33-year-old has scored 3 goals and provided no assists in 5 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish top-tier side.

Cumulatively, Mario Balotelli has scored 185 goals and provided 42 assists in 456 appearances so far in his career.
