The Nigerian equities market closed on a positive note once again today. The NGX All-Share Index (NGXASI) gained 0.70%, settling at 145,813.86 points, up from the previous close of 144,796.37 points.

This positive movement pushes the Year-to-Date (YTD) return to 41.32%, a strong signal of investor confidence and bullish sentiment in the market.

• Volume traded jumped significantly by 69.06%, rising from 964.02 million shares to 1.63 billion shares.
• Market turnover (i.e., the total value of shares traded) increased by 34.87%, moving from ₦20.77 billion to ₦28.01 billion.

Investor sentiment remained upbeat, with 55 stocks advancing, compared to 32 decliners, indicating a market breadth of 1.72x. Volume was up for 75 companies and down for 64.

A number of insurance and financial stocks led the rally over the past week, with Massive double-digit growth seen across board:
• Mutual Benefits Assurance (MBENEFIT) surged by 32.97%, hitting ₦2.20.
• LASACO Assurance climbed by 32.69%, closing at ₦3.14.
• Royal Exchange (ROYALEX) was up 32.67%, now trading at ₦1.81.
• AIICO Insurance rose 32.42% to close at ₦2.64.
• Sovereign Trust Insurance (SOVRENINS) added 32.16%, reaching ₦2.06.
• Others in this impressive run include Veritas Kapital, WAPIC, Consolidated Hallmark, Cornerstone Insurance, and Greenwich Asset ETF (GREENWETF) — the last of which rallied strongly despite recent volatility.
