MARKET RECAP – July 22, 2025

The Nigerian stock market closed positively for the day, as the NGX All-Share Index (NGXASI) rose by 0.47%, ending at 132,451.73 points, up from the previous day’s close of 131,826.77 points.

Year-to-Date (YTD) gains now stand impressively at +28.37%, signaling a strong run for the Nigerian equities market so far in 2025.

Market activity also picked up:
• Volume traded surged by 16.28%, moving from 604.91 million shares to 703.41 million shares.
• Market turnover (total value of shares traded) increased by 27.5%, rising from ₦19.43 billion to ₦24.77 billion, recorded across 29,614 deals.

Market Breadth was slightly positive at 1.05x, indicating:
• 39 stocks gained,
• 37 stocks declined.
Meanwhile, volumes were up for 69 companies, while 73 companies saw reduced volume.


TOP GAINERS OVER THE LAST 5 TRADING DAYS
Here are some of the biggest winners in the last five trading sessions:

✅ VSPBONDETF – Despite falling today, this ETF had earlier jumped by 76.92% over the past 5 days
✅ TIP (The Initiates Plc) – +21.30% in 5 days and a 9.97% gain today

✅ BUA Cement – Strong industrial performer, up 20.32% in 5 days
✅ Caverton – Rose 19.05% in 5 days despite a slight decline today
